Pixie Mate supports Growing Gardens - a Boulder non-profit that uses gardening as a tool to serve many different needy populations in our home town. It's thinking globally, acting locally at work.
Growing Gardens is a human services and youth development non-profit organization, based in Boulder, which was established in 1998. The idea is simple: growing things heals people. All kinds of people. Young people and old people and people with disabilities and from different cultures and economic backgrounds.

Through intensive gardening projects, the youth in their programs grow to become stewards of the environment and leaders in their community. With gardening-based therapy work, the elderly and people with disabilities are able to increase mobility, enhance independence and experience the fulfillment and pride of their accomplishments. Additionally, with basic food production programs, needy families and individuals become more self-sufficient in meeting their food needs and share in a healthy activity while learning valuable ways to conserve the earth's resources.
